In this inaugural review, I will be reviewing the Red Ox Tavern. The Red Ox Tavern is conveniently located at 3773 E Walton Blvd , Auburn Hills, MI 48326 on the north side of Walton across from Oakland University. We had a group of people that were eating there for an early birthday dinner at 3:00pm this past Saturday. When we arrived the majority of my group was already there. We had about 14 people eating and received approximately 4 of these laminated menu cards(needed more) that had 3 QR Codes on them: One for the drink menu, One for the draft menu and One for the food menu. Now if you are one of those QR code savvy people which I am, it is easy but the majority of the people in my group were not. Needless to say, the ordering process was a bit cumbersome. As we all know this stems from the covid epidemic, so the restaurant does not have to sanitize a whole menu.
Now to what’s important, THE FOOD!
For my first time ever I decided to order chicken & waffles. That’s right you heard it hear first. There is a food that Harlen hasn’t tried yet! After having a delicious Carribean Long Island, my chicken and waffles arrived in a short period of time, considering the fact that all our food arrived at the same time which is always nice to see happen. My plate consisted of 2 pieces of basically chicken tenders, 2 medium size waffles with a small amount of syrup and some brown sugar on the waffles. When I order something that I have never had before I always say to myself “Would I get it again?“ and the answer is probably not. Not because it wasn’t good it just didn’t excite me.
In closing our birthday dinner group all appeared to enjoy their meal and stated they would come back again. Here are ratings since I am in real estate the ratings will be 1 to 5 houses five being the best! In the price category, 5 being the priciest. I was in the group with Harlen. I would have given the atmosphere 5 houses since they seated us at the round table on the patio with the fireplace. I thought the atmosphere was a 5. And yes our waiter was totally awesome!!! I had the stir fry and I would have given that a 5 also.
My church group and I enjoyed the review. We wait with baited breath for the next Realtor by day, Mealtor by Night restaurant review! Maybe it can be that Matter of Taste place
